CELLULAR explores the connection between Generation Z and Millennials and the objects in their everyday lives, bringing to the forefront personal stories, emotions, and contemporary dilemmas. The performance emerged from a collaborative process in which 10 young people, selected through an open call, proposed personal objects with emotional significance. These served as starting points for a docu-fiction script, mapping an emotional journey.
The performance invites the audience to journey through time, from an imagined future (2223) to the past (1989), exploring societal transformations and the evolution toward a utopian world. The public is invited to traverse, against the clock, 10 distinct scenes, each inspired by one of the proposed objects, all integrated into a complex visual-auditory installation.
CELLULAR is a performative experience that blends reflections on contemporary society, personal intimacies, and speculative visions of the future, creating a space for introspection and dialogue. By exploring how the objects around us become vessels for emotions and shape our identities, the performance offers a profound perspective on how the past, present, and projections of what is to come influence us.
