Medeber Teatro Company (Brussels, Belgium)

Les Voix Errantes – pronouncing the city – is a work acted, spoken and listened to by the public. A collective exercise to redefine the narration of the city, through the looks and voices of those who pass through it. In the very hot weeks between the end of July and the beginning of August 2024 we crossed the Municipality of Pirri, together with its adult and adolescent inhabitants, families, cultural operators and the general public.

Together, we walked through the streets and squares of Pirri with the task of never stopping walking and letting the words take the shape of our eyes.
Thanks to the editing of Radio NFO, the individual voices, the hesitations, the sighs, the memories collected this summer, have become a short sound documentary, a podcast, of a community that tells its relationship with the Municipality of Pirri.

The participatory event will tell this journey in the Municipality of PIRRI through a new creative experience to listen again to the voice of the city, rewriting it together. At the end there will be space for an informal discussion on the summer experience and the podcast that enhances it.

Medeber Teatro was founded in London in 2015 and moved to Brussels in November 2017. Very active on the socio-cultural scene of the city from the very beginning, it promotes artistic projects and activities that pursue individual and social emancipation through theatre.

The Company uses poetry as a means to create original spaces of interaction with and for all audiences. The public space is the place where their counter-narratives of contemporary society come to life, where imagination intervenes as a tool for social emancipation and intercultural dialogue.
