# Gaza edition is a performance born from the testimony of life in the city of Gaza before the ongoing war, rendered by the testimonies of Palestinian men and women from Gaza who emigrated to Belgium, and collected by Medeber Teatro and Radio NFO – No Fade out.
# Gaza edition is a multimedia show that aims to strengthen the memory of the “living” city, of the traditions and cultural habits of its inhabitants.
The multimedia theatrical research reflects on urbanicide: it refers to the destruction of the urban environment, not only of homes, but also of infrastructures and the urban fabric in a broader sense. This violence has destroyed something specific about the city, its plural and shared nature. This “chorality” is brought back in the multimedia show, through the voices, words, images and testimonies of those who have lived the “living” city. It is a hymn to hope, the attempt to bring to light the “urban breath”, it is an act that expresses the power of LIFE beyond death and destruction.
Medeber Teatro was founded in London in 2015 and moved to Brussels in November 2017. Very active on the socio-cultural scene of the city from the very beginning, it promotes artistic projects and activities that pursue individual and social emancipation through theatre.
The Company uses poetry as a means to create original spaces of interaction with and for all audiences. The public space is the place where their counter-narratives of contemporary society come to life, where imagination intervenes as a tool for social emancipation and intercultural dialogue.
